why marine collagen

Marine collagen helps to support strong and healthy hair, skin, nails, joints and bones. In addition, this powerful superfood is the most sustainable, eco-friendly source of collagen, as it was formerly discarded by the fishing industry as a by-product and is now recognized for it’s value in the food chain with no additional fishing required.

Ethically sourced with pristine ingredients

Sourced from pristine North Atlantic and Arctic waters, our collagen is FSSC 22000 Certified and ethically harvested from the formerly discarded skin of sustainably caught cod. After it’s tested to meet the most stringent standards for heavy metals, the collagen protein is removed and then broken down into smaller units of protein (collagen peptides) through a process called hydrolysis (hydrolyzed collagen).

Our body breaks the collagen down into individual amino acids, which are then absorbed and utilized by the body. Collagen derived from fish has been found to be easily absorbed and provides type 1 collagen. Consuming more fish collagen has been associated with benefits for skin, nails, hair, digestion, joints, ligaments and bones.
